Hello world, or at least the few still watching me, I am making my bi-decadely appearance as is the custom. Nah, I'm gonna try to give this another shot. You may have noticed that most of my deviations are gone, I'll be sorting them out for awhile. I miss this page and feel a sudden urge to start messing with it again. I wouldn't say I'm officially back, I may get distracted and disappear for who knows how long again, but I'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens, who knows maybe I am back for good this time.

Moving to New York
Well, I'm here after yet another million year hiatus. I am not prepared to say I'm going to be here often again yet, as the title says I'm gearing up for a move in October. I'm not moving to the city, we're headed to upstate NY, up in the mountains. Its not gonna be a huge change in environment really, it'll actually be really similar to living here, but the people are spread further apart out there and the plantlife is different, which is a huge deal. Allergies have been killing me and the kids, and out there in that particular region there just isn't a whole lot we're allergic to.

Well I'm back from vacation, I've been back a couple weeks now but I've been being lazy. Vacations are a lot of work lol. We went to disneyworld, before we left we made a bunch of character dinner reservations so the kids got to meet a ton of characters and stuff. had dinner up in the castle at cinderella's royal table, I looked at what it would have cost if we didn't have a dining plan and holy crap it was like $250 a plate, thats $1,000 for all of us which would have totally sucked if we'd have had to pay it, the food wasn;t even very good. couple days later we went to a buffet that was $10 a person and that was some of the best stuff I've

Been really really tired lately, dunno why. Not ill or anything, just feel sleepy quite a bit more than usual.
Planning a big trip later this month, gotta go do that wedding thing and while we're down there we're goin to disneyworld. get to spend a whole week down there. I'm excited, the kid in me is screaming Yay Disneyworld! I always wnted to go there! and the adult in me is sighing and telling the kid in me to shut up, its gonna be a noisy, busy, crowded week full of children screaming and mile long lines for everything. Turkey tips
The time for turkey is nearing and with that in mind its time for turkey tips, I'm putting up some of my own, if you have any feel free to add em to the mix.
Dry turkey is the bane of all roasters, I use some tricks to keep my turkey moist and fall of the bone tender:
Cut wedges out of the sides of a few apples or pears to make open slits in them, put these inside the turkey when you cook it, they will release steam and juices basting the turkey from the inside as it roasts.
